Application for Membership The application process requires a written test conducted by the national organization and an interview by the Minnesota Chapter's Admissions Committee. Information about Membership in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers The application process is handled at the national level, except that the MN Chapter proctors the national written exam for Minnesota applicants and conducts an oral interview and examination. Basic qualifications include the following:
Aspiration to the AAML Bounds of Advocacy (found on www.aaml.org) and MN Rules of Professional Conduct It is no longer necessary for an applicant to be nominated by a chapter member. Attending AAMLmn Meetings, and AAMLmn Sponsored CLE's and Events The Minnesota Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers conducts monthly meetings with featured speakers and regularly sponsors advanced Continuing Legal Education programs and events related to family law practice. If you are interested in attending a monthly meeting to become familiar with the AAMLmn, we can arrange for a member to host your attendance. We encourage members of the bar and other interested professionals to attend the AAMLmn sponsored CLE's, Divorce Camp and events.
