ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

Members of the Academy are recommended for admission by their peers in recognition for having advanced skill in the practice of family law. To be considered, a lawyer must have a highly developed matrimonial law practice. In addition to undergoing a comprehensive application review, applicants must pass a national test pertaining to all aspects of family law, including taxation, federally enacted statutes and international conventions. Each year the members of our chapter elect a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer to oversee the organization's operations. Members are appointed to various committees that are formed to accomplish the chapter's commitment to improve the practice of family law and enhance the welfare of the family.
