American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers
In 1962, a number of prominent family law attorneys founded a national group, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). The purpose of AAML was “to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law, to the end that the welfare of the family and society be protected.”
Today AAML has approximately 1,600 members, all highly regarded matrimonial lawyers, practicing in the complex area of family law, which draws not only on state law, but also national and international law. The practice area requires knowledge of a broad range of legal issues such as real estate, taxation, business law, and of interdisciplinary topics such as child development and financial planning.
Fellows in the Academy must meet certain requirements to belong to the AAML. CLICK HERE for more information.
